Centric SAP Connected Solutions

In 2020, Centric IT Solutions GmbH was restructured, with the focus being shifted to the successful core business surrounding SAP HCM. Our business activities now focus fully on SAP HCM add-on tools. As part of the restructuring, in 2020 the company sold its JDE Oracle business unit to Steltix, with the same company also taking on our Oracle customer projects. Managing Director Steven Wernike has taken on the responsibility of expanding the SAP HCM activities further.

On track for growth with a focus on SAP HCM In Germany, Centric IT Solutions GmbH is now the market leader in the segment of audit and compliance software for SAP HCM. The Centric tools, which are now also available throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland, are currently checking over 5 million payroll tasks every month. We currently have more than 400 customers from various sectors, including Lufthansa, Evonik (chemical company), Deichmann (footwear retailer) and RTL (TV broadcaster). In 2020, we were also able to secure new orders from well-known companies like Condor Flugdienst GmbH, Eurofighter Jagdflugzeug GmbH, EWE AG, Krauss Maffei Wegmann and Deutsche Bahn Pensionäre with 230,000 employees. One of the highlights of our project was the successful migration of 800 banking institutions from the PAISY system to SAP HCM using our DMK migration tool.

Centric IT Solutions GmbH is on track for growth. To make way for this, we expanded our team and welcomed new, highly qualified talent, and we entered collaborations with new, interesting partners as well. Despite the pandemic, our business remained stable throughout 2020 and we were able to carry out the majority of our projects in the form of online workshops. The turnover of SAP HCM add-on maintenance has even increased. To further strengthen Centric’s brand awareness in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, we conducted targeted marketing campaigns and increased our profile in the relevant professional journals and on the trade portals. As was the case with so many events last year, in 2020 we unfortunately had to organise our popular Centric Customer Day online only. We hope to be able to personally welcome our customers again in the near future.


We have a lot planned for 2021: we will continue to strengthen our market position in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and internationalise our SAP HCM business. Naturally, Centric IT Solutions GmbH is also preparing for the technologies of the future and intends to deploy its on-cloud SuccessFactors and Workday products just as successfully as those in the SAP on-premise environment. With a view to expanding its cloud business, Steven Wernike founded Centric Cloud Solutions GmbH, with the new company’s cloud specialists taking on the task of generating business in and around SAP SuccessFactors. Furthermore, in 2021, in collaboration with a pilot customer we have already started to link Centric tools to SuccessFactors, a process that will be implemented on an ongoing basis and developed further during the pilot. The integration of Centric tools in the Workday environment will be done in a similar fashion.

Centric Cloud Solutions

The main purpose of Centric Cloud Solutions GmbH, the new Centric company founded on 1 June 2020, is to develop new products in conjunction with SAP HCM and SuccessFactors and to make the proven products of Centric IT Solutions GmbH cloud-ready. To accomplish this, from the company’s launch we started with 70 highly qualified employees who already have extensive experience with software development based on the SAP Cloud Platform.

Off to a quick start with the new HR on-cloud products business One of our first activities was to complete the SAP Build Partnership. To accelerate software development and quickly deliver market-ready products, Centric Cloud Solutions acquired the cloud products from EASY Software AG. These form the basis of our new software development architecture. This allowed us to quickly launch the new Centric products Employee File and Letter of Reference, create the website, develop pricing and edition models and build a network of partners for marketing and implementation of cloud products, all of this on schedule. All products have successfully passed SAP’s certification programme, which allows them to bear the ‘SAP Certified’ mark and be listed in the SAP Store.

During our first financial year, we were already able to persuade five customers to sign multi-year contracts. Publisher Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ), who signed with us in December 2020, is our largest customer and is also available as a reference customer. To continue the successful development of the company, we continuously worked on expanding our sales pipeline throughout 2020.


We aim to add sales and consulting skills to our team in 2021 and have set a target of acquiring 15 new customers. In the field of software development, we are aiming to expand our portfolio with products for generating documents and payslips. Together with Centric IT Solutions, we will position ourselves as a strategic player in the field of SAP HR and firmly anchor the Centric brand in the cloud world.
